For Parents

Youth Ministry Nights - happen on Sunday evenings from 5:45-7:00 PM. It is the goal of every youth ministry night to give our teens the opportunity to build community while learning about their faith and developing their own personal relationship with Christ Jesus.

Service - When we encounter Christ and deepen our friendship with Him, the result is a desire to serve Him in others. Youth ministry provides opportunities for young people to serve Christ in our parish, local community and in the larger community through participation in Liturgical Ministries, serving at local shelters and food banks and at our annual Mission Trip.

Prayer - Everything in the St. Mary Magdalene Youth Program stems from prayer. We will gather and dismiss in prayer, provide many opportunities to learn how to pray and about the rich and varied types of prayer available to every Catholic. Most importantly, we will encourage full, active, conscious participation at the Liturgy, the best prayer of all!!

For Teens

How do I get involved?

1. Show up! There is an open invitation every Sunday Night to all High School 9th -12th graders. We meet in Classroom C from 5:45-7:00 PM. Bring a friend!
2. Fill out a “Teen Registration Form” found on the right-hand side of this webpage and you will be added to our weekly e-mail list. These e-mails will keep you up to date on all Youth Ministry activities.

L.E.A.D

L.E.A.D. stands for Living Every Aspect Daily. This is a group of High School teens who are consistently participating in youth ministry events and would like to take a leadership role. They help the Youth Ministry team plan and facilitate social and service events. Are you interested? E-mail youthministry@smarymag.org or call the office 480-279-6737.

High School Confirmation

The High School Confirmation class is for 9-12th grade students who have already been baptized. For more information about Confirmation please fill out the Confirmation Enrollment Form, turn it in to the front office and you will be contacted. Classes start in September.

For Volunteers

High School Core - Core members are vital to our youth ministry program. They help in a variety of capacities during the youth ministry nights, but their most important responsibility is being an example of faith to our teens.

Requirements:

1. At least, 18 years old and out of High School
2. Practicing, Confirmed Catholic, free from serious sin by frequent participation in the Sacrament of Confession
3. Regular Mass attendee
4. Possess a love for Christ and His Church and have a desire to serve the teens of St. Mary Magdalene

Steps to Joining the CORE Team:

1. Pray! Pray! Pray!
2. Fill out the Core Team Application and return it to the front office or to youthministry@smarymag.org.
3. Make sure that you are up to date with your Safe Environment training. Need to check your status or register for a class? Go to www.safeenvironmenttraining.org
