Life Groups

A Life Group is a small group (3-5 people or couples) that gather on regular basis to help support, encourage, and guide each other in their growth as disciples of Jesus Christ.

What is discipleship?

Discipleship is a life-long journey of growing in our ability to live an authentic life of love as modeled by Jesus Christ.  This at times can be difficult, and not something we can do on our own.  It is important to surround ourselves with a community of friends who will support and encourage us in this process. This sort of community is exactly what Life Groups provide.

I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.

John 13:15

Why is discipleship important?

Jesus shows us the way to experience a life of peace and happiness. He invites us to journey with him into this blessed life, and he asks us to help each other. St Mary Magdalene is a place where everyone can develop the friendships that will help them grow in their faith.

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. And lo, I am with you always, until the end of the age.

Matthew 28:19-20

How do I start a Life Group?

It starts with the desire to grow in your faith and to help others do the same! Start with the people you know - invite a small group of friends to meet regularly with the purpose of encouraging each other to grow spiritually.  We would be happy to help you find a Bible study, DVD series, or small group resource for your Life Group.
