ALPHA Mission Statement

To honor God by deepening our relationship with Jesus by allowing the Holy Spirit to work in our lives, and those we teach, through evangelization, discipleship, and fellowship in our Catholic Community.

ALPHA is an exciting, practical exploration of what Catholic Christians believe, profess, and strive to live. ALPHA answers our questions of faith in a way that is engaging and fun.

The goals of ALPHA include evangelization - to announce to our Catholic Christians in the pew the power of the Holy Spirit received at Baptism - and the ability they have to use God's power to change the world. Community is another goal. ALPHA provides ongoing community and helps people become involved in parish life.

ALPHA is for anyone wanting to investigate Catholic Christianity. The topics are studied from the Catholic perspective, although you do not have to be Catholic to attend. All are welcome…no matter where you are on your faith journey.

Each week we will meet for approximately two hours to explore the validity and relevance of a different Catholic Christian topic. We will have dinner, watch a video, share dessert, and have discussion. The course typically runs 10 weeks with a formal leader, then your group decides how often to meet and continue as your own "front porch church" - keeping community and fellowship intact, and deciding which direction to take your group (ministry, parish involvement, community projects and service).

The ALPHA retreat takes place in the middle of the course session. We strongly encourage all to attend, for without it, you may miss the spiritual experience of a lifetime.
